Butterflies, Butterflies, Butterflies!

Nature is amazing.

We were so lucky to see a caterpillar shedding its skin for the last time and becoming a chrysalis.

We waited for about 3 weeks and saw the butterfly emerge. The caterpillar had been through metamorphosis! After it's wings had dried the butterfly flew away. We learnt that it would have flown back to the plant it came from.

Samantha's Story

Yesterday the butterfly came out of the chrysalis. It was very cool. It is a Monarch Butterfly. It is orange and black. It is still surviving. It's wings are crinkled but the wings will dry out. I hope it will survive. It will fly away one day and it can fly a long, long way. It will be fun watching it.
